CTK Precision P3 Ultimate Mono-Pod
MOST VARMINT SHOOTERS use a bi-pod to steady the front end of the gun, but rely on their hands and/or shoulder to hold up the rear end. That can lead to unintended gun movement, in both the horizontal and vertical planes, caused by everything from breathing, to wind gusts, to jerky trigger stroke. But all of those problems can be eliminated forever with the new P3 Ultimate Mono-Pod from CTK Precision.
CNC machined from billet aluminum, with a durable Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish, the P3 Ultimate Mono-Pod attaches securely to the rifle’s rear sling-swivel stud via a screw-adjustable clamp. Four rubber contact pads bear on the stock, preventing any possibility of marring. The head of the P3 is angled to conform to the bottom taper of the stock, providing a vertical alignment of the two-stage, telescoping leg. The telescoping, spring-loaded first-stage can be cam-locked at full extension (1-15/16 inches) with a quarter turn of the knurled locking ring, or partially extended and locked in place with a set screw. The second stage is for fine elevation adjustment, and is screw-adjustable over a range of 1-9/16 inches. The combination of the two stages provides 3.5 inches of travel, which translates into 360 inches of vertical point-of-impact adjustment at 100 yards. Mounted on the bottom of the second stage leg is a hard rubber pad that swivels through 360 degrees. The P3 includes three sling-swivel attachment points, weighs only 5.56 oz., and extends only 2.7 inches below the bottom of the stock when fully collapsed. An optional AR sling-swivel stud ($11.99) is available for installation of the P3 on AR-style rifles.
