P3 Ultimate Gun Vise

Review by Jamie Mangrum

If you are serious about your shooting and regularly clean or find yourself working on firearms then you need some sort of gun vise to make the job a lot easier and I believe it is a worthwhile investment. I have used the standard Tipton Gun Vise for many years and have been happy with it. I found that it does have some limitations. Mainly I can only use it with long guns and if the firearm is an odd shape, length, or configuration like an AR or FAL then the Tipton vise just does not function very well at all. Recently I have had the opportunity to try out a new gun vise made by CTK Precision called the P3 Ultimate Gun Vise. I decided I would let pictures do the talking to show you all of the features and adjustments that are available on this vise.

P3 Ultimate Gun Vise

I was like a little kid with a new toy. I brought out every type of firearm I own into the garage to see if I could foil the P3. The padded and expandable rear vise makes it easy to place small to large items at any height from four to twelve inches. The pads on either side of the rear vise are advertised to be resistant to gun solvents and will not mar or scratch your firearm. I found this to be true.  As pictured I was able to place firearms in the vise of varying sizes including a Belgian Mauser, an AR upper (yes, I actually own one!), and one of my favorite .45 caliber hand guns. I was able to raise, move forward, move backward, and adjust the levels of the vise to my hearts content. The P3 vise is made from welded tubular steel and painted a glossy black with the P3 and CTK logos placed upon the rear vise making the unit look very racey like something off of the NASCAR circuit. I think the P3 is one of the better setups I have tried and because of the materials used in the construction would endure more years of use than most vises on the market today.
